You can download Paint.net for free. It's very similiar to photoshop and does a decent job. I've been messing around with if for a couple of weeks and I'm still trying to figure out all the fancy stuff. I'd try it first since it's free and see if it does what you want before buying any software. IMHO of course.

I would suggest PhotoShop Elements. The new verision, 7, is much more user friendly that they past versions. I think you would really liek using it.
